Christy Whitehead is a freelance writer
and photographer in Jacksonville, Fla.

She has written for newspapers since the age of 15, when she started her own entertainment paper, "VOLUME."  Today she writes and does photography for local and national newspapers and magazines.

Whitehead is a regular columnist for LAW & ORDER Magazine and a regular contributor to the community section of the Florida Times Union.

She is best known for her easy-to-make Halloween costume articles and her police photographs.  To editors she is reliable, able to meet deadlines and an excellent source for story ideas.

Whitehead is known to be able to come up with many ideas on any given topic in a pinch. One editor called her an "idea machine."

Here you will find some examples of her work, including some published pieces.  Whitehead appears in print several times every month, so keeping the work on this site up to date is next to impossible. If you would like to see recent articles, feel free to ask.

Her work regularly appears in the law enforcement magazines LAW & ORDER, 9-1-1 Magazine, Tactical Response Magazine, Police Fleet Manager, Chief of Police, Police Times and others.

The publication Photographer's Market has also featured her photography and interviews with her.

Whitehead lives in Jacksonville where she is working on two books as well as freelancing full-time while running a photography studio. She is happily married and lives on a small farm with her labrador, cat and tons of chickens.
